The Crossing Xl continues the dialogue about migration, war and climate change. Scavenged burnt charcoal washed up on the beach is handcrushed and mixed with sumi ink, this washed up debris is a metaphor for the many deaths on migrant boats overturning at sea thats still continue daily. The symbol of the Cross has been a recurring theme in my work as both a religious and a maritime symbol and has evolved over the years to express my belief, concern and outrage, very much like using ‘The F word’
